Ready to Reupholster like a Pro? Watch This!

Hello Fabric Fans!

Go from “Nasty”…

I am really excited to be able to bring you this latest DIY video from Team Fabric Farms Interiors! Dining room chair upholstery has been covered by many a DIY program host; some have done a good job, some…not so much. Well, we’ve created our own How to Upholster a Dining Room Chair Seat video, and, if I do say so myself – it’s epic.

…to “Nice!” Here’s Bernie, steam finishing the cushion as the final step.

I remember when I started upholstering. I made so many mistakes, mistakes I want each and every one of you to avoid! So we made this video – and the other supporting videos in our Beginning Upholstery playlist – for the complete newbie. Unlike so many DIY videos out there, it’s truly comprehensive and shows you how to upholster a dining room chair seat. How to measure the fabric you need. How to center a pattern so each seat is identical. How to pull and staple the fabric so it’s smooth, even on rounded corners. No shortcuts or blackouts or behind the magic video curtain stuff. Step by step, we show you how and why and we use the right tools to get a professional finish on the job. Even if you’ve done basic upholstery before, I’m betting you might learn something from our new series of videos. (Yeah, I’m pretty excited.)

So without further ado, here’s our dining room chair tutorial. You’ll notice that it refers to other videos in the series instead of including additional information. Let me know if you think this is a good thing or just irritating (comment on our Facebook page – and like us while you’re there ????). And when you’ve finished your gorgeous dining room seat projects, send us pictures! We want to see your work!!

Choose the fabric for your project wisely – think about your needs: durability, cleanability (if this isn’t a word, it should be!), fade resistance. We recommend Fabric Farms Interiors for a huge selection of fabrics suitable for upholstery. Have a question about a fabric on-line?
