Wedding 101: Burlap Chair Sash

It’s June and our theme this month is Weddings! Our newsletter featured a wonderful English Country wedding held in Kent, UK. The outdoor wedding featured a wedding aisle defined by yards of voile and fresh flowers and tables decorated with a mix of fine linens and rustic burlap and lace.

The seats were all freshly reupholstered in cream but another lovely touch would have been to use a burlap chair sash – either knotted with flowers or tied in place with a bow.

These simple sashes are available to purchase all over the internet – but the quality of burlap available varies widely. Here’s how to make your own burlap chair sash with Fabric Farms Interiors’ excellent quality 60″ wide raw burlap:
To make 10 6″ x 108″ Burlap Chair Sash, purchase 3 yards (108″) of our raw burlap.  Cut out 10 6″ strips lengthwise.  (You’ll want a good, sharp pair of scissors.)  Either leave the edges raw or overlock them.  Simple, yet elegant!
