Part-time (10-20 hours/week, including some Saturdays)
To provide excellent customer service by assisting customers in a professional and friendly manner in all aspects of store sales.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting customers in finding merchandise and making sales
Offering options and alternatives
Answering telephone and questions
Operating point-of-sale system
Check-out / check-in fabric, sample books
Measuring and cutting fabric, trim, foam, etc.
Researching fabric and other items for customer requests and inquiries.
Fill online / internet orders
Maintain appearance of store by straightening bolts, books, samples, etc.
Check-in, price and display merchandise or call customer
Take year-end and periodic inventory counts.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of types of fabric, sewing terminology, how to calculate yardage
Knowledge of interior design principles
Skills & abilities required include:
Visualizing (what a customer is working on) and asking appropriate questions
Communication: listening, talking, interpreting, friendly and approachable manner
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Ability to accurately measure and cut fabric, trims, foam, etc.
Ability to stand on your feet for a long period of time
Ability to write neatly and fill out forms completely and accurately.
Ability to use scissors, calculator, measuring tape, measuring table.
